Experimenting with Lush Bar Shampoo & Conditioner

by Krista

In trying to eliminate unnecessary plastic from my life, one of my most pressing needs was shampoo and conditioner. Normally, I’d head over to my hair salon and spend a lot of money on expensive products that also come in non-recyclable plastic. This time, after doing some research online, I decided to head to a Lush and pick up some of there bar shampoo and conditioner.

The salesperson at my local Lush (upstairs in Liverpool Street Station) could not have been more helpful and friendly. She quickly analyzed my hair type (very dry) and needs and recommended the following:

  • Jason and The Argan Oil Shampoo
  • Big Solid Conditioner

The sales team wrapped up my purchases in more paper and gave me a paper bag to take everything home in and I’m excited to experiment with these new products. BUT before I left, the team told me all about Lush’s recycling program and I was SUPER impressed. They use their own recycled black pots and have a scheme where if you return five black pots, you get a free face mask.

So…the verdict is still out on these…I want to give them more than a few tries before telling you what I think. But the shopping experience was a strong start.

***Update*** I tried using the shampoo and conditioner bars and did not like them. I just felt like I could never get enough soap or conditioner out of them. Weird. So…looking for other options.
